@@ ''Amateurfunk'' @@ ist ein funkdienst, zu dessen aus�bung man eine lizenz (amateurfunkgenehmigung) der fernmeldebeh�rde ben�tigt. Hat man diese, darf man auf einer grossen anzahl von frequenzen im kurzwellen-, vhf-, shf- und mikrowellenbereich sowohl empfangen als auch senden, und dies in den verschiedensten betriebsarten, von morsecode ("cw"), sprechfunk �ber fernsehen ("atv") bis fernschreiben und datenfunk.
Ich habe 1967 die erforderliche pr�fung abgelegt, bin seit 1968 in �sterreich lizenziert, und darf das rufzeichen @@ ''oe1wkl'' @@ verwenden (urspr�nglich war ich als oe5wkl unterwegs, dann viele jahre als oe1wkl, gefolgt von oe3wkl, und jetzt eben wieder oe1wkl).

Chirp is a tsoftware tool to program memories and other settings of amateur radios. It is available for all major PC platforms.
I created two csv files, especially for the FT-817 radio (but they are probably useful for other radios, too - just consider that some additional tweaking might be necessary to adapt them to the functionality or the capabilities of a particular radio.
The first file is a list of simplex frequencies, QRP calling frequencies for SSB and CW for the HF bands, and FM calling frequencies for the VHF / UHF bands.

The second file is a list of 6m, 2m and 70cm repeaters in Austria (excluding digital mode repeaters, as the FT-817 cannot handle those). Downloadable [[hier: AT_repeater.csv | ./AT_repeater.csv]].
You might ask: why only common QRP CW and SSB frequencies, and not, for example, standard qrgs for various digital modes? Well, first there is omny limited number of memories available in this radio (200); secondly, most people use (or should use) software for digital modes that also has rig control capabilities - which means you can store numerous frequencies with their associated digital modes within such software - no need to use up the precious memories of your FT-817!

ende der 80er, anfang der 90er jahre begann ich mich f�r computertypographie zu interessieren - zu dieser zeit waren erstmal computer relativ leicht zug�nglich, die genug rechenkapazit�t hatten, um mehr als nur einfache textverarbeitung mit ausgabe am nadeldrucker zu machen. eines der ersten systeme mit denen man hochqualitativen satz machen konnte, war TeX von Donald Knuth. Das dazugeh�rige programm zur erzeugung von schriften ist Metafont. das interessante an metafont ist, dass es eigentlich eine programmiersprache ist, in welcher das aussehen jedes zeichens programmiert wird - h�chst abstrakt, ohne direkte interaktive manipulation. eine ziemliche herausforderung, wie man sich vorstellen kann. bald waren aber auch spezielle grafikprogramme zur erzeugung von schriften verf�gbar, mit denen man sozusagen jedes schriftzeichen mit der maus (oder einem anderen eingabeger�t - hatte aber kein anderes) "zeichnen" konnte.
zwei komplette fonts (naja, was heisst komplett in der typografie? alles ist relativ) habe ich gebaut, einen mit metafont, und einen mit fontografer.
!!!Vicentino font family
diese schrift entstand mit metafont, f�r das satzprogramm TeX, im jahre 1991. es gibt 6 auspr�gungen (script, script bold, modern, modern bold, twist, und twist bold). da mit metafont erzeugte fonts nicht in einem der heutezutage �blichen formate erzeugt werden (Truetype, Postscript, Opentype), sondern in einem generischen format f�r TeX, habe ich zur zeit zum einen nur ein schriftmuster in der variante script, und zum anderen keine fonts zum downloaden. wer die fonts in TeX verwenden m�chte, kann dies nat�rlich recht einfach tun; auf den CTAN achiven sind die matfont sourcen von Vicentino verf�gbar (siehe zum beispiel http://ftp.agh.edu.pl/pub/tex/help/Catalogue/entries/vicentino.html ). Und so sieht Vicentino Script aus:

diese schrift habe ich mit fontografer im jahre 1993 f�r die firma topics (http://www.topics.at), die damals gerade im entstehen war, gemacht (und im jahre 2003 mithilfe von PfaEdit, einem GPL Unix werkzeug, "nachgebessert", d.h. das Eurozeichen (�) dazugebaut). sie liegt als Truetype schrift vor, und kann daher von allen modernen betriebssystemen verwendet werden.
topics gibts in den schnitten sans regular, sans bold, sans regular italic, und sans bold italic. sans deswegen, weil es sich um eine sans serif schrift handelt (die art schrift zu der auch Arial, helvetica, Univers etc. geh�ren), und ich damals noch dachte, dass ich vielleicht auch einmal eine dazupassende serifenschrift machen w�rde; das wird aber, so wie es derzeit aussieht, in der n�chsten zeit kaum der fall sein. und so sieht topics aus:
